(Jan. 22, 2004) -- Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and the rest of the band are gearing up for their pregame performance at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston. Aerosmith got the 2003 season started at the NFL Kickoff Live event in Washington, D.C., and now it's also appropriate that the Boston natives will be on hand to see the New England Patriots face the Carolina Panthers for the NFL crown.
SuperBowl.com caught up with Aerosmith's Joe Perry before the big game. Here's what he had to say:
What is your favorite NFL team?
New England Patriots. They are our hometown team and it's important to stay with your hometown team through thick and thin.
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is ready to root on his hometown team in Super Bowl XXXVIII.
If you were in the NFL, what position would you play?
Owner … or relative of the owner.
What do you enjoy most about football?
It's fast and the tailgate parties are a blast!
How often do you watch football (in person and on TV)? What do you like best about watching the game?
Whenever the Patriots play or when the game directly affects their standing. The best part about watching a game is when a play goes down and you know everyone gave 110 percent.
What was the best football game you ever saw?
Two years ago, when the Patriots won Super Bowl XXXVI as time expired.
What is your earliest football memory (as a player or spectator)?
Watching Joe Namath cream the Colts in Super Bowl III, barely able to walk off the field, then spend the night with five Playboy bunnies.
